A disproportional amount of this increasingly busy space is given over to legacy uses from the twentieth century such as roads for private cars and parking.

The Italian military has long had control of the Port in Trieste but now this historic waterfront is now part of a masterplan which connects the historic city and the water. The regional government would like the masterplan to attract international companies as well as home grown start ups.

The BT Tower is a British icon but faces obsolescence as communication becomes digital.

As well as being a much loved building it also contains a huge amount of embodied carbon. It makes no sense to demolish it but can we get better utility from the structure and opportunity?
